A photo gallery of the Racetog.com Toyota off road race truck. Follow us on Twitter from the link above... We has some cool stuff in the works, trust me on this.
After tearing the A-arm at the last MORE race our Fab guy wanted the engine removed to make it easier to do the work on the front end. Jay, has said he's going to donate a clutch for the race truck. Clutch in it is fine but replacing it is also a good idea.
We put our fab guy Austen under the gun, tap, tap, we are waiting... :)
We have some “slop” in a uni-ball so we are going to change all of them. Other than that, the front end is ready to race.
The Toyota has been torn apart again getting ready for the 2008 MORE Balls Out 250. Our fuel pump was making noise so we put in a spare... Same noise, different pump. Phil Confer (crew chief) and I took the fuel cell apart and all looks good. We might have blockage somewhere after the pump but need further detective work on it… We are also changing the leaf spring bushings… They have seen better days and it is time.
Don’t think the folks that live around me are all that happy... Cutting and grinded all of the time must piss them off. So far, I’ve only had one compliant. When the Cops show up things might change :)
We've got the engine back in for the most part but taking our time. Every single nut, bolt and everything else is being looked at with a fine thooth comb.
Like a fine Wine it'll be done when it's ready...
For the 2008 off road racing season we plan to paint the truck. Not sure on a color just yet but as of right now it'll be Toyota racing orange.
Truck prep 10/06/2007- Our team is professional in preparations before every race. This image shows the truck being torn down as we get ready for the December M.O.R.E. race. Our crew leader also works for an undisclosed Trophy Truck team. It’s tough on the pocket book but when he says we need to fix or replace something, we do it.
This front end failure occurred at the 2008 MORE Balls Out 250 and almost put us over the side of a steep drop off. As luck would have it, we stopped in time before going for a ride…
An up and coming fabricator has been working hard with “AutoCAD” designing reinforcements so this doesn’t ever happen again. We think a bolt backed out causing this failure but need to tear things apart to be sure.
